About Poppy Chase
- Poppy Chase, Author -
Poppy Chase lives with her husband and yellow lab Tucker in Southern California. Having been a classroom teacher and an elementary campus administrator, she is committed to providing relevant and relational reading adventures for children. She believes that both younger and older children benefit from story-time with a caring adult. Recently, when she asked a group of children, ages nine through twelve, if a picture book she had just read to them was meant for younger children, they said, “No, it’s also for us because we want the stories, too!” Both their attention and enthusiasm to discuss the story proved that they meant it! That’s one of the reasons why Poppy enjoys the adventures of writing and reading for younger and older children in mind.
Poppy met her husband Tim while skiing at Snow Summit in Big Bear, California. After they married, Tim was a high school teacher and coach, while Poppy was a special education teacher in an elementary school and, later, a middle school teacher. Through the years, Poppy and Tim adopted three children and lived in Colorado, Kansas, and the Texas Hill Country. While living in Texas, one of Poppy’s hobbies was raising miniature donkeys.
